We are attending the GTT-Technologies Users’ Meeting this week on June 29 – 30. Tanai Marin and Kevin Heppner will present on Dynamic Simulation of Batch Copper Converting using SysCAD with ChemApp.
Copper converting, where iron and sulphur are removed from the molten matte, is typically carried out by Peirce-Smith Converting process. SysCAD with ChemApp was used to develop a dynamic model of this batch process, including the system’s complex thermochemistry. Combining the highly advanced ChemApp thermodynamic calculation engine with the flexible and robust dynamic simulation capabilities of SysCAD allows exploration and evaluation of copper converting issues that would be difficult to achieve by a steady-state simulation approach.
The GTT Users’ Meeting is an online event and participation is at no charge. You can register your attendance and view the paper abstracts here: https://gtt-technologies.de/workshop2022/
